What are the spending limits on my Juuli card — and can I change them?

How card spending limits work

Every Juuli card can have its own spending limits that help you stay in control and keep your money safe. Limits are set per card, so each virtual or physical card you create can have its own rules. You can review and adjust them at any time from app.juuli.com — they are fully in your hands.

The limits you can set

For each card, you can configure three independent limits:

  • Daily limit — the most that card can spend in a single day.
  • Monthly limit — the most that card can spend in a calendar month.
  • Per-transaction limit — the most that card can spend in a single payment.

If a payment would push the card past any limit you have set, it is automatically declined — a simple, built-in safeguard against mistakes and unauthorised use.

New cards come with a default daily limit of €1,000 and a monthly limit of €5,000. These are only starting values — you are in full control and can raise, lower, or remove any limit at any time.

How the limits work together

You choose the amounts that suit you. A few simple rules keep them consistent:

  • Your per-transaction limit cannot be higher than your daily limit.
  • Your daily limit cannot be higher than your monthly limit.
  • Your spending is always also bound by your available account balance — a card can never spend money you do not have.

How to change your limits

Updating a card's limits takes just a moment:

  1. Log in at app.juuli.com and open the Cards section.
  2. Select the card you want to adjust.
  3. Open its limit settings and enter your new daily, monthly, and per-transaction amounts.
  4. Save your changes — they take effect right away.

Changes apply immediately to that card only. Limits cannot be changed on a card that has been cancelled.

A quick tip on staying in control

Spending limits pair well with Juuli's freeze feature: if you want to pause a card without changing its limits, you can freeze and unfreeze it instantly in the app. Setting tighter limits on cards you use for subscriptions or one-off purchases is a great way to reduce risk.
