What do I need to open a Juuli Company account?

A Juuli Company account gives your registered business a payment account with its own IBAN and Visa cards. Juuli is a regulated platform, not a bank — payment and e-money services are provided by Stripe Technology Europe, Limited, an Electronic Money Institution authorised by the Central Bank of Ireland (firm reference C187865). Here is what you will need to get set up.

Who can open a Company account

Where a Juuli IBAN account and Visa card are available: only when you live in — or, for a business, are registered in — one of these 20 EEA countries: Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Cyprus, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia and Spain. Other EEA countries — for example Poland, Sweden, Denmark, Czechia, Hungary, Bulgaria, Romania, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway — are not eligible for a Juuli IBAN or Visa card yet. Freelancers anywhere in the world can still invoice their clients through Juuli's Merchant of Record.

You will need to be an owner or an authorised representative of the company, with permission to open and manage the account on its behalf.

We cannot onboard a business where a beneficial owner (UBO) is connected to a sanctioned jurisdiction — Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, and the Crimea, Donetsk and Luhansk regions — regardless of where the company is registered.

What you need before you start

  • A valid email address — this is where your sign-in and security codes are sent.
  • Your personal identity document (passport or national ID) and a device camera for a quick selfie check.
  • Your company's registration details, including its legal name, registration number and country of incorporation.
  • Official company documents, such as your certificate of incorporation or registry extract.
  • Details of the ultimate beneficial owners (anyone owning 25% or more of the business) and the company's directors.

The two verification steps

Opening a Company account involves two checks, both completed in-app:

  1. Identity verification (KYC). You verify yourself as the person setting up the account using your ID and a liveness selfie. This is usually automated and takes just a few minutes.
  2. Business verification (KYB). We then verify the company itself using your registration details, company documents and beneficial-owner information.

Once both checks are approved, your IBAN and cards are activated and you can start using the account.

How much does it cost to open?

There is no setup, activation or joining fee for any account type or plan — opening a Company account is free. You only choose a plan, and you can start on Freemium at €0 per month. Monthly costs apply only to the Pro (€19) and Max (€29) plans.

Good to know

  • Security is handled with a one-time PIN sent to your registered email each time you sign in — there is no separate authenticator app to install.
  • Verification timing can vary if we need to review additional company documents, but most of the process is automated.
