How quickly do I get paid after my client pays a Juuli invoice?

When you invoice a client through Juuli, we act as the Merchant of Record (MoR) for that invoice. This means the payment runs through our regulated platform before it reaches you. Here is what happens, step by step, once your client pays.

What happens after your client pays

As soon as your client authorises payment, the invoice moves through a short, automated sequence on our side:

  1. Your client's payment is authorised and captured.
  2. The funds are received and processed through our payment partner.
  3. The net amount (your invoice total minus the Juuli service fee, where applicable) is credited to your Juuli Invoices balance (Invoices → Balance).
  4. The invoice is marked Completed, and you can see the funds in your dashboard.

You will see each stage reflected in the invoice status, so you always know where your payment is in the process.

How long does it take?

Once your client's payment has been captured and processed, the funds are credited to your Juuli Invoices balance and become available to withdraw. Card and online payments usually settle quickly, while some payment methods take a little longer to clear before the money reaches your balance. Because Juuli handles the invoice as Merchant of Record, you do not need to chase the client once they have paid — the platform completes the rest automatically.

Getting the money to you

You get paid out by requesting a withdrawal from your Invoices balance:

  1. Open Invoices → Balance and choose Withdraw Money.
  2. Select the currency and the bank account to receive the funds, then submit your request.

The money is paid to your own bank account — you do not need a Juuli IBAN to get paid through invoicing. Add or manage your bank account under Settings → Payout Settings. If you also hold a Juuli account, you can instead keep the funds there and spend them with your Juuli Visa card.

The service fee for invoicing is 4.5% per invoice, and it can be set so that either you or your client covers it. That fee is already accounted for when your net amount is credited.

Good to know

  • Invoicing as Merchant of Record is currently available for Freelancer accounts. Sole Trader and Company invoicing is coming soon.
  • If you hold a Juuli account, your balance is ready as soon as your identity check is approved — but invoicing pays out to your own bank account, so a Juuli IBAN is not required.
