Juuli Privacy Policy — what we collect and why

Your privacy matters to us. This article explains, in plain language, what personal data Juuli collects, why we collect it, and the rights you have over it. Juuli is a regulated platform, not a bank — the underlying e-money and payment services are provided by Stripe Technology Europe, Limited, an Electronic Money Institution authorised by the Central Bank of Ireland (firm reference C187865).

What we collect

  • Identity and contact details — your name, date of birth, address, email, and phone number, used to create and secure your account.
  • Verification data (KYC/KYB) — a government-issued ID and a selfie/liveness check during identity verification, and for business accounts (Sole Trader and Company) supporting company documents and details of beneficial owners.
  • Account and transaction data — your IBAN account activity, card usage, transfers, and invoicing records.
  • Technical data — device and log information used to keep your account safe and detect fraud.

Why we collect it

  • To provide the service — opening your payment account, issuing cards, and moving money on your instruction.
  • Legal and regulatory obligations — identity verification, anti-money-laundering checks, and tax and financial-compliance duties that apply to regulated payment services.
  • Security — protecting your account, including sending a one-time PIN code to your registered email when two-factor authentication is required.
  • Support and improvement — answering your questions and improving how Juuli works.

Juuli will never ask you for your password or a 2FA code. We only share data with the partners and regulators needed to deliver and safeguard your account, and only as the law allows.

Where your data lives

Juuli operates in the EEA and the UK. Your data is processed in line with the GDPR, with appropriate safeguards in place when partners process it on our behalf.

Your rights and choices

  • You can access and update your details any time in app.juuli.com → Settings. Changing your email or phone number requires verification.
  • You can export your data and transaction history from the app (GDPR data export).
  • You can request account closure from the app once any remaining balance has been withdrawn (some funds may be held temporarily to cover potential chargebacks or recalls, or during a compliance review — see our Acceptable Use Policy). Some records are kept afterwards where law requires.
