How to top up your Juuli card

⏳ Change coming on 1 August 2026 — from this date you can top up your card only from your Juuli account balance. Topping up directly from an external bank account will no longer be available. To fund your card after the change, first add money to your Juuli account (via your IBAN), then top up the card from your balance.

Today, your Juuli Visa debit card has its own balance. To spend with it, you first add money to the card by topping it up — from your Juuli account or from an external bank account. Here's how it works.

How to top up your card

You can fund your card in two ways:

From your Juuli account — move money from your Juuli balance onto the card.
From an external bank account — send a SEPA transfer to your card's top-up details (IBAN), shown in the app. (available until 1 August 2026)

To do this in the app, open Financial Accounts → Cards, select your card, and open the Top up option to see your card's top-up details and add funds.

How long does a top-up take?

Top-ups travel over the SEPA network as standard (not Instant) transfers, so the timing can vary:

Your first top-up may take up to about 1 hour.
After that, top-ups usually complete within about 10 minutes.

Because your card spends from its own balance, make sure you have topped up enough before a large purchase. If a payment is declined for insufficient funds, top up the card and try again.

I topped up but my balance isn’t showing yet

Give it a little time before trying again. Your first top-up can take up to about an hour, and later ones usually arrive within about 10 minutes. Don’t repeat the top-up while you wait — the funds are on their way. Refresh the Cards screen after a short while. If your balance still hasn’t updated well after these times, contact us at support@juuli.com with the date, amount, and where you topped up from.

Coming soon: cards linked directly to your account

From 1 January 2027, Juuli cards will draw directly from your account balance, and the separate top-up step will be phased out — so you will be able to spend straight from your account without topping up first.
