What are the transaction limits on Juuli Business Visa cards?

From 1 August 2026 — Juuli cards can be topped up only from your Juuli account balance; topping up a card directly from an external bank account will no longer be available.

Spending limits you control

Every Juuli Business Visa card can have its own spending limits, so you can keep tight control of business expenses. Limits are set per individual card — you decide the amounts that fit how each card is used, and any transaction that would push a card past a limit is declined in real time.

The limits you can set

For each card you can configure three independent limits:

  • Per-transaction limit — the most a card can spend in a single payment.
  • Daily limit — the most a card can spend in one day.
  • Monthly limit — the most a card can spend in a calendar month.

You choose the amounts. To stay consistent, your per-transaction limit can't exceed your daily limit, and your daily limit can't exceed your monthly limit. Give one card a tight cap and another a higher one — it's entirely up to you.

Adjusting your card limits

Open app.juuli.com, go to your cards, select the card you want, and update its limits. Changes apply right away to new transactions, and they work the same for virtual and physical cards.

What else affects a transaction

A few other things determine whether a card payment goes through:

  • Available balance. A card can only spend the balance available on the card. You fund the card by topping it up from your Juuli account or an external bank account (see How to top up your Juuli card). Even within your limits, a transaction is declined if the card's balance is too low — top up the card and try again.
  • Card status. A frozen card declines all transactions until you unfreeze it. You can freeze and unfreeze any card instantly in the app.
  • Restricted categories. For security and compliance, certain merchant types — such as gambling and cryptocurrency — are blocked and will be declined automatically.

Why a transaction might be declined

If a payment doesn't go through, it's usually because one of the above conditions was met: the amount exceeded a limit you set, your balance was insufficient, the card was frozen, or the merchant falls into a restricted category. Reviewing your card's limits and balance in the app — and topping up the card if needed — resolves most declines.

Your card limits are independent of your plan. Your plan determines how many cards you can hold and your fee structure, not your per-card spending caps.
